Therefore, we offer an out-of-the-box solution for an easy and fast entry to the editorial systematic work that also protects your wallet.

Koenig & Bauer is one of the leading printing machine manufacturers and the leader in the area of manufacturers of pressure lines for printing newspapers in the world. The operating manuals for the customized systems are created with the content management system TIM-RS® and PI-Mod.

For machinery and plant engineering

PI-Mod is the new standard structure for mechanical and plant engineering initiated mainly by Prof. Wolfgang Ziegler. We implemented this open-source structure in the XML authoring and content management system TIM-RS® in collaboration with the University of Karlsruhe. It was presented at the tc world conference 2009 in Wiesbaden for the first time.

PI-Mod in TIM-RS®

Take advantage of the standardization of the information model in PI-Mod that takes into consideration above all "account descriptions and instructing information such as structural and functional descriptions, step-by-step instructions as well as special information like maintenance schedules, tool lists, lubrication schedules, etc." (excerpt from the description of PI-Mod, www.pi-mod.de).

The standard structure PI-Mod is already implemented in the XML authoring and content management system TIM-RS®.

The TIM-RS® Bundle

We have put together a package “TIM-RS® Bundle” with the following components:

  • Integrated XML Editor TIM-XMAX with a predetermined entry-structure

  • A generalized concept of metadata for the machinery engineering with the corresponding configuration

  • Integrated publication process for PDF and HTML

  • Standard document structure for the publication of contents and index generation

With this standard package you can start immediately and will be effectively supported when entering and publishing.
